Under the Initial records tab, you can enable multiple record types for your competition, where applicable. Records can be set per event, gender, and age group.

The guide is divided into the following sections:

Enabling records

To enable records for your competition, click the Enable/disable records button.

To select a record, tick the checkbox next to its name and save.

Available records:

  • Championship Record (CR)
  • Club Record (CLR)
  • Collegiate Record (CollR)
  • Course Record (CoR)
  • Facility Record (FR)
  • High School Record (HiR)
  • League Record (LeR)
  • Meeting Record (MR)
  • National Record (NR)

  • Olympic Games Qualifying Mark (OGQ)

  • Personal Best (PB)

  • Regional Record (RegR)

  • School Record (SchR)

  • Season Best (SB)

  • World Best (WB)

  • World Championships Qualifying (WCQ)

  • World Indoor Championships Qualifying (WICQ)

  • World Lead (WL)

  • World Record (WR)

  • World U20 Qualifying (WU20Q)

Please note: If your competition includes mixed events or events with multiple age groups, you must first add athletes to the start list to see records for a specific gender or age group.

If the Auto-format records option is enabled, you can enter values without strict formatting — the system will format them automatically.

If the Roster fantasy game is enabled, players will be awarded bonus points when an athlete on their team improves their PB, SB, MR, or WR.

The system automatically sets all world records (WR) for the senior groups (if they exist).

Records will appear on the public website and in the Roster Athletics app once at least one athlete has been added to the start list, and the event visibility is set to Schedule & Start Lists or Full Visibility. For more details, see the Event Visibility guide.

National records

When National records are enabled, select the countries for which you want to add records. To do so, click the Manage NR countries button and select all applicable countries. To remove a country, click its name in the Selected list.

You can filter the list of initial records by record type using the Record type field, or by Sport event or Age group — note that only one of these two filters can be active at a time.

Events with stages

Initial records broken at earlier stages will carry over to later stages. The record progression across stages will be visible in the Initial records view.
